Reliance Industries has a large manufacturing facility at Hazira, just outside Surat, which employs a large number of persons. Starting with an idea to set up a primary care facility for their own workforce, they wanted to explore the possibility of setting up a specialty hospital in Surat, as their gift to the people of that region. Based on a detailed survey, a case was established for the setting up of a 100 Bed hospital.
